The International Classification of Diseases, 10th revision - the most widely used diagnostic coding standard in the world, maintained by the WHO. Endorsed by the World Health Assembly in 1990 and adopted by member states from 1994 onward. National modifications such as ICD-10-CM (diagnoses) and ICD-10-PCS (procedures) are used for US billing. Many countries continue to use ICD-10 for billing and statistics even as ICD-11 is adopted.
