Abstract. DEA Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (90 FR 6541, 17 January 2025) proposing a Special Registration framework with three registration types (Telemedicine Prescribing, Advanced Telemedicine Prescribing, and Telemedicine Platform) and heightened prescription, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements for controlled-substance prescribing via telemedicine. Not finalised as of mid-2026.
