Abstract. Cochrane systematic review (209 randomised trials, over 107,000 participants) finding that, compared with usual care, patient decision aids produce large increases in knowledge, more accurate risk perceptions, clearer personal values, and choices more consistent with patients' informed values, with no adverse effects on health outcomes, satisfaction, or decision regret.
